Jenis - Jenis Format Pada E-Book

• AZW

• sebuah format propietary Amzon. Hal ini menyerupai format MOBI kadang-kadang dengan kadang-kadang tanpa menyertakan Digital Rights Management (DRM). DRM pada format ini dikhususkan untuk Kindle Amazon.

• EPUB

• Format terbuka didefinisikan oleh Forum Open digital book dari International Digital Publishing Foum (<idpf>). Hal ini mengacu kepada standar XHTML dan XML. Ini adalah standar yang sedang berkembang. Spesifikasi untuk EPUB dapat ditemukan di situs web IDPF. Adobe, Barnes, & Noble dan Apple semua memiliki DRM mereka sendiri untuk format ini yang tidak kompatibel antara satu dengan yang lainnya. • Palm File Database. Dapat menyertakan beberapa format digital book yang berbeda yang ditujukan untuk perangkat berbasiskan sistem operasi Palm. Pada umumnya digunakan untuk buku digital berformat PalmDOC (Aportis DOC) dan format eReader juga dan banyak lainnya. 

• PDF
• Portable Document Format yang diciptakan oleh Adobe untuk produk Acrobat mereka. Ini secara tidak langsung merupakan format yang digunakan untuk pertukaran dokumen. Dukungan perangkat lunak untuk format ini hampir mencakupi semua platform komputer dan perangkat genggam. Format Gambar BMP dan GIF

 

BMP (Bitmap)

Bitmap adalah representasi dari citra grafis yang terdiri dari susunan titik (pixel) yang tersimpan di memori komputer. Nilai setiap titik diawali oleh satu bit data (untuk gambar hitam putih) atau lebih (untuk gambar berwarna). Kerapatan titik-titik tersebut dinamakan resolusi, yang menunjukkan seberapa tajam gambar ini ditampilkan, ditunjukkan dengan jumlah baris dan kolom (contoh 1024×768)

GIF adalah format gambar yang dikompres dengan CompuServe. format GIF sudah cukup lama digunakan dan salah satu yang umum dipakai di internet sama seperti JPEG, GIF adalah kepanjangan dari Graphics Interchange Format dan sama-sama memiliki kompresi seperti format gambar TIFF, GIF secara alami adalah gambar dengan 8-bit warna, berarti mereka dibatasi oleh palet sebanyak 256 jenis warna.

Heloise and Abelard Love Story

Kisah Pierre Abelard dan istrinya Heloise adalah salah satu kisah cinta paling mengharukan dalam sejarah Barat. Abelard, yang lahir di 1079 M, datang ke Paris dan mengajar di sekolah gereja Kristen baru di sana. Sementara itu, jika Heloise tidak menikah sebelum melahirkan, maka ia akan menanggung aib. Akhirnya mereka pun menikah diam-diam, hanya memberitahu Fulbert.

Akan tetapi setelah pernikahan, Fulbert membocorkan berita itu kepada orang-orang. Heloise berusaha membantah kabar itu, hingga Abelard membantunya pindah ke sebuah biara agar aman dari orang-orang. Namun Fulbert mengira bahwa Abelard hendak menyingkirkan Heloise. Fulbet menyuruh orang membuntuti Abelard, menghajarnya, dan memotong penisnya. Abelard nyaris mati namun berhasil bertahan hidup. Ia pensiun ke sebuah biara dan berhenti mengajar. Ia juga tidak pernah lagi bertemu Heloise, namun mereka terus saling berkirim surat. Pada akhirnya Abelard mendirikan sebuah biara perempuan, dan Heloise menjadi kepala asrama di sana. Abelard meninggal pada 1142 M dalam usia 63 tahun, sedangkan Heloise meninggal pada 1164 SM dalam usia 63 tahun juga.
